Can you tell us what you're doing and how adding SQL will help the masses? I have no idea what Code4z does so I'll have to read up on it. Getting bugs fixed in IDMS may take many versions so we have to live with a work around. Some have never been fixed like Retrieval locks and they cause terrible performance. However, almost no one knows how bad Retrieval Locks are sucking up CPU and causing deadlocks. I discovered the problem with retrieval locks in 1992, found a work-around and used it since. It's the difference between IDMS locking up or processing like lightening. As an old timer, improving IDMS' performance is huge because data keeps multiplying My point is, I don't know if adding new features has a higher priority than fixing bugs.
