OCR fails to recognize text from dark mode screenshots

We are using Symantec DLP version 25.1 with OCR Sensitive Image Recognition and facing detection issue when detecting screenshot images in dark mode.

Specifically, we tested two images with the same DPI and similar content:

• Light mode screenshot → OCR successfully detects the text and the incident is reported.

• Dark mode screenshot → OCR fails to recognize any text.

We would like to confirm:

• Whether OCR has known limitations with dark mode or inverted-color images

• If there are recommended settings or preprocessing steps to improve OCR detection for such images
