Broadcom is announcing the end of support for the use of the HTTP protocol with the OM View Plug-in for Zowe CLI, effective November 7, 2026.
Beginning on that date, the OM View Plug-in for Zowe CLI will support connections to the OM Web Viewer REST API using HTTPS only.
Why Is Broadcom Making This Change?
Standard HTTP transmits data in unencrypted plaintext, leaving user credentials and report data vulnerable to eavesdropping or tampering. HTTPS encrypts and authenticates connections using TLS certificates, protecting the privacy and integrity of your data in transit. Requiring HTTPS aligns the plug-in with modern security standards and enables your connection to the OM Web Viewer REST API to remain secure.
Who Is Affected?
This change applies only to customers who use the OM View Plug-in for Zowe CLI and currently connect to OM Web Viewer using HTTP.
Customers who already use HTTPS are not affected and do not need to take any action.
This announcement does not affect support for OM Web Viewer or the OM View Plug-in for Zowe CLI. It applies only to support for HTTP connections.
Migration Path

Broadcom is providing a three-month transition period so customers can complete this migration before HTTP support ends.
Customers should complete the migration by November 7, 2026. After that date, connections from the OM View Plug-in for Zowe CLI to OM Web Viewer using HTTP will no longer be supported.
