    The Gen team is excited to announce support for Java compiler versions 17, 21, and 25 in the Gen Build Tool.

    This feature completes our certification plans as outlined in https://community.broadcom.com/discussion/gen-86-certification-plans-for-2025.

    Support for Java 17, 21, and 25 requires one or more of the following PTFs which can be found at the Gen 8.6 Solution & Patches (Distributed) page or by using the link below:

    The PTF for this feature has been withdrawn due to an issue that occurs when a user sets the OPT.USECLASSPATH token in the build tool to 'YES'. We believe this issue affects a small number of users. We are working to release a fixed version of this PTF shortly.

    I will update this post when the new PTF is available.

    The updated PTF is now available. Thank you to our customers for the prompt feedback about the use of the OPT.USECLASSPATH token. This further reiterates how important it is to have customers test code changes. Broadcom has updated our test regression suits to include this use case in the future, and we will continue to seek volunteers for pre-release testing of future development efforts.
