Sometimes it takes an unexpected hospital stay to bring some clarity. As I was sitting involuntarily hearing TVs blaring and listening to unavoidable conversations in the next bed, I was thinking about lost opportunities to collect data. What I observed
- Number of escalation levels to get a proper IV inserted
- Number of customers with weight variations after weight events. (And never getting a valid weight.)
- Number of false positives due on using equipment that gives false blood pressure results. (Replacements are not in this year's budget.)
So the question this raised was, are we failing to get "prerequisite metrics" on factors that may be impacting the gathering and the values of the "actual metrics" for our applications?
I'm not sure if this is a valid concern for anyone. But thought I raise it here.
Any thoughts on this ?
