    Hello, OPS/MVS community!

If you use IMS, you can use two new sample rules, SSMIMST1 and SSMIMST2, to facilitate system shutdowns that are managed by System State Manager (SSM). These rules save the names of DLS and DRC regions, two types of task that spawn from IMS control regions and are not managed by SSM, to OPS/MVS global variables. When you use these new rules with the sample rule IMSREGS, they prevent SSM from directly shutting down the DLS and DRC tasks, which helps to prevent IMS abends.

To use the new samples, install PTF LU20162. For more information, see the comments in the SSMINST1, SSMIMST2, and IMSREGS samples, which are delivered in the SMP/E target library CCLXSAMP.
