In Symantec Messaging Gateway 10.9.2, is it possible to get an alert when the queue reaches a defined number of messages? We need an alert that triggers when a specific number of messages are in the queue

I wish that feature was added. I have asked for that same feature years ago. The only alert you will get, is if the either inbound, outbound, or delivery total is exceed as per the advanced smtp settings. But you are correct, it makes more sense to specify a value that you want to trigger the alert. So short answer, u need to make a feature request thru support. I tried, and never got what i wanted.

This would definitely be a useful monitoring feature. Being able to define a queue threshold and trigger an alert would make it much easier to catch delivery issues before the queue grows significantly. Until then, external monitoring or scripting seems like the most practical workaround.
