  • 1.  How to upgrade from Spectrum 22.2.6 to 24.3.8.

    Posted Apr 22, 2025 08:44 PM

    HI Spectrum engineers.

    I need your help.

    Environment:
    OS : Redhat Linux 7.2
    Spectrum 22.2.6

    Question:
My customer is planing the upgrading of Spectrum.
They recognize that it is possible to upgrade directly from 22.2.6 to 24.3.8.
Since 24.3.8 does not support RHEL7x, they are considering measures including upgrading the OS.
    The steps are as follows.
1: Upgrade OS from RedHat Linux 7.2 to RedHat Linux 8.x
2: Upgrade Spectrum from Spectrum 22.2.6 to Spectrum 24.3.8
3: Upgrade OS from RedHat Linux 8.x to RedHat Linux 9.x

If they need to pay attention, please let me know.

    Best regrads,
    Marubun

    Hi Marubun-san,

Please have in mind that the Linux Red Hat 9 requirements differ a bit in the libraries needed, compared to Linux Red Hat 8.

Make sure to check the "Required Packages in Spectrum 24.3.x" and also the note above, especially the perl package.
I also had issues installing the "coredumpctl" package, but I guess that can be installed at any point later on, if need to be.

There is also the following Knowledge Base article needed to download a requirement, if missing:
Spectrum 24.3 required package ncurses-compat-libs is not available on RHEL9

Wish you success with your upgrade.

    Regards,
    Jochen
