  • 1.  Force Agent to Use TCP at Install Time

    Posted May 23, 2024 05:56 AM

I am automating the installation of CA ITCM 14.5 agents onto VPN enabled laptops. Due to the nature of our VPN I cannot use UDP and need to force TCP (I have a dedicated SS server using TCP for CAM/CAF for this purpose also). The problem I have is I would like to apply the CAM config to force TCP at install time on the agent rather than after installaing the agents. If I do this after installing the agents I need to stop cam/caf and then run the camconfig commands.

Is it possible using deploywrapper.exe or the MSIs to apply cam configs to the agents at installation time? I seem to recall we could specify a .DAT file for this at install or the like.

You can put the commands to reconfigure CAM in the “ InstallTestFixes.bat”
    file.

Sorry, thinking further the DMprimer will use UDP to download the Agent
install package from the SS, so the change to TCP needs to happen earlier
    in the process.

This might woirk! The install is offline (i.e. I have all the agent binaries copied locally) so I can go and test this.
