    Hi All,

While we work towards our scheduled monthly probe releases for the month of August 2026, we are proud to announce the General Availability of the following probes as part of an interim release, focusing on maintaining a strong security stance across the product:

Note: We are also releasing an update to Java JRE 8, bundled with the latest OpenJDK JRE 8u502.

You can find more details in the respective release notes linked above, and the probes are available on the GA Archive at support.nimsoft.com.

The new snmp collector probe version has DCD files removed and we are encouraged to download a device certification deployer instead. Can you elaborate a bit about this deployer? When is it needed? Is it necessary for an existing installation or only for new installations? Also, the link to the snmp collector release notes doesn't work:

    Decoupling snmpcollector from DCD Files
Out-of-the-box DCD files have been removed from the main snmpcollector bundle and converted into an explicit package dependency.
Note: Download the Device Certification Deployer before installing snmpcollector probe.

The Device Certification Deployer (DCD) is a dedicated package artifact containing all SNMP vendor device certifications, metric catalogs, metric mapping files, and vendor priorities.

    Why was this change made?

In earlier releases, snmpcollector shipped with a default set of certifications and metric catalogs bundled directly inside the probe package. Whenever a standalone DCD package was deployed, it would overwrite those embedded files.

To eliminate duplicate files and decouple probe core updates from device certification release cycles, the out-of-the-box certification files were removed from snmpcollector. DCD is now defined as an explicit package dependency for the probe.

When is it needed, and is it required for existing or new installations?

It is required for both new installations and upgrades of existing installations:

    • How deployment works: When you deploy snmpcollector, UIM automatically installs the latest available Device_Certification_Deployer package from your local UIM Archive to fulfill the package dependency.

    • What you need to do: Before installing or upgrading snmpcollector, ensure you have imported the latest Device_Certification_Deployer package into your primary hub's local Archive. Without the DCD package present in the archive, the probe deployment will lack the required device certifications.

For existing customers, there is no change/action required, until they go for the next upgrade.

Device_Certification_Deployer imported to primary hub archive but I get a dependency not found error when trying to update Snmpcollector. Why?

Update: My bad, I did not import the latest deployer version.
