Installing, upgrading, configuring, and maintaining mainframe software is a complex, multi-role process.
To facilitate a productive and efficient team experience, in product documentation, we highlight the required roles in several key ways:
Our installation checklists note the role for each step. For examples, see the documentation for Database Management Solutions for Db2 for z/OS, CenterStage, and Smart/RESTART, RLX, and TASKLIB+.
Each installation procedure notes the required role prominently at the top of the page. For example, see Complete Configuration Tasks in CenterStage documentation.
As part of installation preparation activities, we include a best practice topic named Meet with the Installation Team, where we define all roles that are necessary for this process. For examples, see the documentation for Database Management Solutions for Db2 for z/OS, CenterStage, and Smart/RESTART, RLX, and TASKLIB+.
