Level Set 20.0.21 (LU21682) for the Database Management Solutions for Db2 for z/OS is now available. This Level Set PTF helps you identify your current level of maintenance and installed features.

The following feature in this Level Set requires activation:

    • Simplified Keyword Processing in Fast Load and Rapid Reorg. Fast Load and Rapid Reorg have been streamlined and simplified with the removal of obsolete keywords.

The following features in this Level Set do not require activation:

    • Db2 13 M509 Support for New Capabilities

      • Db2 Catalog Conversion to UTS. Fast Recover, Log Analyzer, Merge/Modify, Quick Copy, and Recovery Analyzer now support Db2 catalog and directory table spaces that have been converted to universal table spaces (UTS) using the REORG TABLESPACE utility with the new CONVERTUTS option.

      • New catalog columns for STMT_HASHID2. Log Analyzer now supports new columns for more granular hash values.

These enhancements extend Database Management Solutions for Db2 support for Db2 function level V13R1M509, ensuring uninterrupted object processing on subsystems with the latest Db2 13 function level maintenance.

    • Lifecycle Messages Now Logged to Console. The REST API (DBM Data Service), Xnet, and OFA now log job startup and shutdown messages to the console. You can use these messages to automate the starting and stopping of these started tasks.

    • Fast Unload Now Supports a Single SYSCTL for Multiple SELECT Statements. Fast Unload can now consolidate all generated LOAD control statements into a single SYSCTL data set when processing jobs with multiple SELECT statements, when ONE-SYSREC is not specified. This functionality is only available for LOAD-CONTROL DB2LOAD. This enhancement simplifies data set management and reduces complex JCL maintenance.

    • RC/Migrator Support for CREATE OR REPLACE PROCEDURE and Routine Comments. Generation and parsing of the CREATE OR REPLACE PROCEDURE statement on subsystems running Db2 12 M507 or higher is now supported in stored procedures DDL. Comments in SQL body text for routines are also now supported. This support is provided in the Syntax Checker and RC/Migrator migration strategies. This feature makes it easier to manage stored procedures in application environments while checking the syntax and generating DDL output during analysis.

    • SYSVIEW for Db2 Enhancements:

      • Add Authorization Type Field. The AUTHID-TYPE field has been added to the IFCID 314 ACC-AUTH-EXIT record. This new field indicates the type of the authorization ID that is specified in the AUTHID-VAR field. The security administrator can use this information to improve access control authorization exit routine security.

      • Add Database Access FLAGS Field. The FLAGS field has been added to the AUDIT-ADMIN-AUTH record to track whether object access was allowed through PUBLIC privilege or allowed from the Dynamic Statement Cache. The database administrator can then determine whether the object has the appropriate access and modify the access level, if necessary.
