Datacom GA Announcement: Faster SQL sort query performance with SORTL

Hello Datacom CADRE Community members,

Datacom team is pleased to announce the general availability of the new PTF LU19182

Feature Overview                                            
The Datacom SQL sort architecture now takes advantage of the new SORTL instruction introduced with z15 (and later) systems. With this new approach, when memory is available, sorts will be performed entirely in 64-bit memory. Otherwise, a new SQL Sort Work Table (SWT) will be used to merge multiple internal sorts.

Key Benefits
This enhancement facilitates improved performance for Datacom SQL queries involving sort operations for customers with System z15 (and later) hardware installed.
