What is new
Delivery Confidence is expanding beyond milestones to portfolio items. Starting September 16th, you will be able to see delivery confidence for any portfolio item in Rally, at any level - not just items tied to a milestone.
It helps you understand whether the work under a portfolio item is likely to be completed by its planned end date. The forecast uses Monte Carlo simulation and teams' historical throughput to provide:

Overall delivery confidence for the portfolio item

Delivery confidence information for each contributing project or team

Visibility into where delivery confidence may need attention
Calculations are made only for portfolio items with a planned end date between 1 and 365 days in the future.
Why it is important
Risk doesn't only show up at the milestone level - it surfaces earlier, in the Initiatives and Features that feed into your plans. With Delivery Confidence available on any portfolio item, you can spot risk sooner, review scope and priorities at the level where the conversation is actually happening, and have more informed discussions with contributing teams before delivery is affected.
