For IDMS security administrators, there is a need to standardize the instructions for Application Transparent -Transport Security Layer (AT-TLS) topics. AT-TLS facilitates secure communication over a computer network between a server application and the user of that server. The client uses a digital certificate to identify itself to the server and to start communication with the client.

The new AT-TLS structure, found under the Administrating facet->Security for IDMS on the IDMS 19.0 site makes this easier, combining older topics with the new standard topics. This IDMS customization is presented as:

This new section structure includes a Generate a Transport Layer Security Certificate topic for each External Security Manager (ESM) (ACF2, Top Secret, and IBM RACF). Customizations were made for IDMS. In addition, the new structure includes information on how to Configure the REST API with AT-TLS, with links to other related topics.

Both the Configure AT-TLS Policy Agent and Configure the REST API topics have sample code to demonstrate how the AT-TLS configuration can be done.
