  • 1.  Any experiences with connecting Automic Agents to private cloud ?

    Posted Jul 12, 2025 04:50 PM

    Dear Experts,

We are in the discussion of moving few SAP systems to SAP Rise  and number of SAP agents are  not huge compared to other Non-SAP agents we have in our landscapes.

Can someone please share some inputs on the accomplishments and challenges that was faced here ? Your inputs are highly appreciated.

We have fully automated the system refreshes with Automic and also would be great to share some information on that as well.

    Thanks and Regards

    Hi,

Automic is fully certified for SAP RISE, see https://www.sap.com/dmc/exp/sap-certified-solutions/#/solutions?search=broadcom&id=s:c320bc6f-a4b3-472a-a78b-e263ff19d460

In case you rely on the Automic OS agent for file transfer, you have to use alternative file transfer methods, this as SAP does not allow the installation of 3rd party components in the SAP managed cloud environment.

Also, see our documentation with a couple of hints regarding known to work alternatives for file transfer in and out of the SAP managed cloud environment:

When migrating your SAP system to SAP Cloud (BTP etc) using the RISE concept, consider ordering an external (to SAP system) interface server (aka "Toolbox") which can be used by SAP system jobs for many purposes (e.g., job dumps, exporting-importing data, file transfer, file archiving, etc.) Ask SAP on how the respective server can share the data (job and some other data if needed) with your FMO SAP system. SAP may give you an option of keeping the "interface server" either in SAP Cloud (meaning, under SAP control) or in Azure/AWS/GCP (under your control).

Automic Unix agents can be installed on the "interface server". The communication routes can be arranged by the respective network teams.

SAP agents can be kept on the AE server and communicate with SAP system in SAP cloud via the RFC connections.

In other words, there are plenty of AE integration options with SAP cloud within the RISE concept.
