Symantec Endpoint Protection not downloading

My college requires me to download Symantec endpoint protection in order to use the wifi, but I am having trouble downloading it.

I get the message Could not extract the correct file. Access is denied whenever I tried to download it. I have disables windows defender and I do not have KB2781197 on my windows 8 laptop.

Can anyone please help me??

right click on the setup.exe selecdt properties

and select UNblock... 

run the setup again

You can post the SEP_INST.log and SIS_INST.log files located in %temp% directory

What logs do I need to gather in order to troubleshoot a failed SEP 12.1 client installation?

Or has it not downloaded for you to even install?

You do need credntials to access the download, do you have the correct ones?

if its downloading then check your internet security  settings

I did have it downloaded before a couple of months ago but than i deleted it completely and I cannot find it at all. And i can't upload a screenshot atm

If you already rebooted than open regedit and go to:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\SessionManager\

delete the value called PendingFileRenameOperations

Run the install again

I'm having both problems. How do i check the internet security settings? I first had a downloading issue than i tried using winrar. I couldn't install it because it says i need to reboot my computer for the setup to complete which i did and i kept getting the same message

You should just be able to download in a web browser, not sure why winrar would be needed
