Tech Tip: Lining up DCI fields on exported eHealth elements

09-04-2015 10:03 AM

If you have exported element data from eHealth, using nhExportData, there is an easy way to create a CSV file, and line up the DCI fields

Save the output as a text file, and remove the header information, so it looks similar to the following

Once you have the DCI column names lined up, you should be able to save this to CSV format and the DCI column headers will be lined up with the values in the fields

You can also create a text file template, with DCI column headers, already populated.  Then cut and paste elements out of the $NH_HOME/poller/elemnetCfgBackup.dci file

Save it as CSV, and your element's DCI fields should line up, below the DCI column headers

Alternatively you may use $NH_HOME/bin/sys/nhiListDdiFile -inFile $NH_HOME/poller/elementCfgBackup.dci > out.txt which gives you something like that:

DS,,Elements,

{

        {

                objId 1

                name 192.168.42.1-RD

                dbId 1014668

                nmsId "192.168.42.1-RD-key"

                poll

                sysContact "Big Admin"

                sysDescription "Response Destination"

                sysName "192.168.42.1"

                sysLocation "xxxxx"

                ifDescription "Response Destination"

                speedIn

                speedOut
