CA Endevor

Integrating Jenkins Pipeline with CA Endevor Software Change Manager

02-26-2018 11:55 AM

This video demonstrates using the CA Application Lifecycle Conductor plugin for Jenkins to facilitate the automatic packaging of CA Endevor changes and driving them through a release pipeline. The pipeline includes the build of the changes, static analysis of the source code using SonarQube and deployment to a test region.

Yes, CA ALC is a separate product / purchase.  Stuart is correct, you can either roll your own in response to a webhook or you can use the OOTB integrations in ALC.  BTW - ALC will help you with other integrations as well (for instance, integrations to the ADLM features in Agile tools like CA Agile Central or JIRA).

Hi Jaydeep,

You can integrate Jenkins with Endevor with the Endevor webhook but you will need to have the Endevor web service functionality active and the generic webhook payload plug-in for Jenkins
The Endevor webservice requires java 8 on your mainframe and the connection has to be https.

Without products like ALC, you may find that the learning curve is very steep and you will need to do a lot of scripting in the Jenkins product.

Good luck

Stuart

Is there any place where the complete process is defined? Like, what do we have to enable from the Endevor (mainframe) side? (for example: some specific port(s) or web serivces?)

Also from where, I can download the "Application Lifecycle Conductor" plugin for Jenkins?

Do we have to purchase "Application Lifecycle Conductor" product to integrate Endevor with Jenkins!!?

Thanks,

Jaydeep
