    Hello,

Does someone use Oracle RAC with CA Gen?

Was it simple? There were any issues?

    THNX in advance.

    Hi Gintaras,

This is a KB article from a few years back but should still be valid.

Is CA Gen supported or compatible with Oracle Real - CA Knowledge

In summary CA Gen is not directly aware of the way Oracle RAC functions (multiple Oracle instances per database). However connecting a Gen application using a valid service name to an Oracle RAC environment should be successful and then RAC will do the rest.

    Hope that helps

    Regards,

Are you talking about using Oracle RAC to host the Ency databases or connecting a CA Gen application to an Oracle RAC database ??

I have one site that is hosting the Ency databases within Oracle RAC due to licensing concerns. Not a supported or recommended configuration but it does work and reduces some of the risks/efforts in managing backups/DR/etc.

Gen just sees it as just Oracle ... and knows no better (or worse).
