WOW - are there shops were folks ONLY do IDMS DBA work? 5 years ago, I saw
the ""writing on the wall"" and attempted to learn DB2 - it has paid off well
for me ($$$$) - we just completed an upgrade to V8 (20+ subsystems) and NO
outages due to the upgrade; 2 jobs experienced longer run times due to
changed access path - in fact, just today i got a bonus ($$$$) for the
error-free implementation

"Lucky you. Government employee salaries are considered ""public record"".
The local newspaper publishes all of our salaries on their web site. (I
guess we are a little hard up for exciting news, here in Iowa.)
