Is there an APM solution for webMethods Command Central? My customer is running a proof of concept for it and wants to know if CA has anything to monitor it.

I've also opened up a CA Support case # 01249883 for this effort. It's been assigned to FrancisLee

    Thanks

    Manish,

For webmethods, we have only 3 agents : Integration server , Broker & Universal messanger(fieldpack not officially supported). Sorry we don't have an agent for Webmethods Command Center.   (thanks to advice from Srinivasa)

    thanks,
    Francis

    HI Manish,

Although, we don't have an agent package or FP that that product, if this is java application, you might want to give a try using the default package from version 10.7, hopefully, Smart instrumentation(SS) will help you obtaining the metrics for the information you need.  Try increasing introscope.agent.deep.instrumentation.level to high

We keep improving SS so hopefully it will help you, you can find below a brief summary:

    In 10.0: we added
-Automatic Entry Point Detection (introscope.agent.deep.entrypoint.enabled) -> this allows us to obtain all possible frontends
-Automatic Transaction Traces based on Differential analysis

    In 10.2 : added
-Enhanced Automatic entry point detection in threads with Backends (introscope.agent.deep.entrypoint.enabled)

    In 10.3: added
-Cross Proces AutoTracing (introscope.agent.deep.automatic.trace.crossprocess.enabled) -> CPTT for Auto trace ensures downstream traces are sent to EM

    In 10.5: added
    - Produce Complete ATC Relationship View Faster : Along with sample traces and normal traces a new transaction trace is generated by agent automatically when agent sees a particular transaction for the first time. (it is named “discovery trace”).
    - Automatic Backend Detection (introscope.agent.automatic.backend.detection.enabled) -> backends component can be auto instrumented on the fly to enable performance visibility, this help you to automatically pin point the component for application slowness or failure without any manual intervention or side effort

For more information, see Configure Smart Instrumentation - CA Application Performance Management - 10.7 - CA Technologies Documentation

    I hope this helps,

    Sergio

Although Sergio says there is not an extension specific to WebMethods Command Center, if you send your autoprobe log file through autoprobe.net, you can see if any of the other extensions are useful for this application.

    Tim

Thanks SergioMorales. Will try out the default java agent and see what metric it provides. Should be interesting. Would you be up for a WebEx for it when I set it up  ?

    Cheers,

    Manish
