    Hi,

We get a critical alarm from the Fault Correlation Engine probe with the message 'The System "HOSTNAME" at IP address 172.***.***.*** has experienced a fault and requires intervention.'. What does the alarm mean?

We have a rule that only devices that goes down that displays critical alarm.

    Thank you.

    Regards,

    Andre

And another alarm from Fault Correlation Engine :
"A network link has experienced an outage and requires intervention at System HOSTNAME, IP address 172.***.***.***, interface index 6.  Alternate paths are currently available."

Sounds like Topology and Root Cause Analysis is providing more info than desired. It will probably be more useful to just use the net_connect or icmp probe to generate an alarm when a device is not reachable.
