I just noticed the following advert from an agency in the UK.

    Position: IDMS Technician
Skills: My client has a requirement for several short term contractors
to work in their South Yorkshire headquarters on an IDMS project. The
successful candidates will have experience in the upgrading of recent
IDMS releases 13, 14 and 15. You will be a team player and able to work
    within tight deadlines.

I think I would be very suspicious if anyone came to me with Experience of IDMS 13 on their profile.

    Mit freundlichen Grüssen

    IDMS FAQ
"CA used to have a nice IDMS FAQ page that was available to the public.
But the old URL no longer works. Does this still exist, and if so, what
    is the new URL?

    z/OS 1.6 and CPU Effectiveness
    "Hi,

We went to z/OS 1.6 on the weekend from 1.4. Since we upgraded to 16.0
SP1 + apars in mid May we have recorded the CPU Effectiveness close to
our end of online business day. We had lows of 78% to a high of 81%
under z/OS 1.4 for the 3 weeks under this environment. Now after 3 full
    days of z/OS 1.6 we have hit 75%, 76% and 76%.

This is still early days but hopefully it does not become a trend. This
could be something to look out when upgrading to z/OS 1.6.

    Upgrading the OS
    "Hi,

According to QI67776 when upgrading the z/OS OS how important is
relinking the startup and SVC? We changed our RHDCLEFE modules etc but
the startup and SVC where not relinked.

    Thanks

    Re: Upgrading the OS
"The reason it is recommended to recompile (not relink) the startup and
SVC is because they reference the IBM maclib's and if the Release was
change, in theory the macro could have changes made to it. Thus by
recompiling with these new maclib libraries, changes could be made that
is required for the these modules to perform properly on the new
operating system. But many most likely say they do not have no
    issues, but someday, they may.

    "Thanks you Edward.

We are seeing some minor performance issues. Tasks are a taking a mite
longer and our CPU Effectiveness is slightly lower.

    Thanks
