  • 1.  Minimum replication time and asynchronous pull mechanism

In an mutli-site cluster, The replication duration between the primary site and secondary is set to some default value=5 mins i guess. What is minimum time it can be set to, Could it be less than a minute.

In an mutli-site cluster, The replication between the primary site and secondary is documented as asynchronous pull. What is mechanism behind this asynchronous pull, Is it sql replication or anything else.

We discussed this with Manoj in a support case. There was a misunderstanding about the pull frequency. Secondary sites pull updates from the primary site every 10 seconds by default, not every 5 minutes. This is a transactional replication. It is possible to adjust the pull period, see https://docops.ca.com/ca-privileged-access-manager/3-1-1/EN/deploying/set-up-a-cluster/cluster-configuration, specifically the section "Cluster Tuning" near the bottom of the page. As documented there this should be done only while working with PAM support on a problem. The default settings are based on extensive testing to find the best compromise between performance and replication delays.
