  • 1.  APM Spectrum Integration - Merge models

    Hi,

I have a question about APM 10.7 integration with Spectrum 10.2.1.

APM-Spectrum Integration creates a new model in Spectrum per APM agent and i already have this servers discovered by SNMP in Spectrum.

So servers are duplicated in Spectrum, one Host_SystemEDGE model and the other WilyAgent model

Is it possible to configure APM Integration not to create a new model in Spectrum and use the existing Host_SystemEDGE model as destination for those traps instead?

(I have already tried with SNMP actions in APM but Spectrum cannot understand traps correctly and i get events with mib variables on the APM MOM server model)

Any ideas on how to achieve this?

    Regards,

    Facundo

    Hi Facundo,

No, you really want a separate model for the APM components.  Although with custom trap policy it is possible to assign them to the same Host Model, it's not really worth it.  There's usually little relationship between a critical alert in APM and something that would normally be critical against a host.  Separating the models out is a better management answer.
