  • 1.  Best Approach : To delete the duplicate entries added in the resources

    Posted Jan 03, 2019 08:08 AM

    Hi Everyone,

    Happy New Year!

When we created entry for a resource, we provide email address which will be a username for the clarity account. When user changes the last name, we created a new entry with the new email address without editing the email address. Now there are lot of duplicate entries due to this reason. What is the best approach to delete those duplicate entries. We are on SaaS Environment.

There is no supported way of deleting resources/users.

    Minimize the footprint and inactivate.

Ie remove rights, groups, OBS associations, participant memberships, close all allocations and set ETC to zero and so on.

An option is to create a clean system, XOG in what it needed and what can be XOGed and manually enter the rest.

There is no job as such to clean the system. Also as Martti suggested once you created a user it remains in the system and you can make them inactive

Sorry to say there is no Instant Clean -button on CA PPM. The maintenance is hard work for the admin, but somebody has got to do it.
Aurora has recently posted some details on housekeeping

    CA PPM Application Housekeeping

I say recently, because that was an active topic some 15 years ago when the systems did not yet need that much maintenance as they where still gathering junk. Most of the discussions from that time are now unaccessible.

One of them was in Clarity User Society (1000+) in LinkedIn just ten years ago. That is attached in non-edited form.
