I just received our updated Licences on Fri & hope to be in position to apply to Non Prod today/tomorrow.

    1.     On the comparison referred to, while the Platforms match off in the 2 files, for 13 of these the Event Col is blank – albeit for Non Agent Types  – is this a concern?
    2.     Also I see reference to date 20170228 – what is significance of this, will licences expire on this date?
    3.     Is there any documentation on applying Licence?
    4.     Do I just upload using DB.Load?
    5.     Should I back up anything in advance?

    1.  This event column is just to ensure that agents can run EVNT objects. It's only relevant for agents so there is nothing to worry about.

    2. Yes this is correct, licenses are valid until the date that appears in this column :

    3. and 4. : Yes the only thing you need to do is upload licenses through DB load.

    5. There's no need to backup anything before loading the new license. Just double-check that all the entries listed are valid. In case you have any concern about delivered licenses, please contact your account manager directly.

    Best regards,
    Antoine

Licence File received refers to “Non-Production” as opposed to 'Non Production' – should I just amend this file & re-apply.

Please don't touch the license file. If you need this to be changed, you may either :

    • Assign the desired category to the agents from the System Overview > Agents > edit the agent(s)

    • Contact your account manager to request another license file.

I need to know the process by which one imports license files. Location,  step by step on how to actually accomplish the task.

Licenses need to be loaded into the Automation Engine database with DB Load utility ed76666j1oot.png

It's usually located in a folder named Utility\bin. Just start it and browse to open the license file (the one in .txt format - 35015.txt for example).

If you are doing this from Unix / Linux you will need to do it in batch mode with this syntax :

    ucybdbld -B -X<path to the license file>

    Example :

    ucybdbld -B -X/automic/license/35015.txt
