on the same page you will see below

    Step 2: Download Update Files

Refer to "Application Update for Software" in List of Update Files for the patch files that are required to upgrade the CA API Gateway (note that the platform updates are not required for Software Gateways).

For information about how to download the archive files from the CA Support site, see "Obtain the Patch Files" in Patch a Software Gateway.

click on List of update files

But my question is whether that patch file supports the 8.2V or not?

The upgrade process is not cumulative and are platform specific so you will need to upgrade incrementally.  From 8.2 you will need to upgrade to 8.3, 8.4, 9.0, 9.1 then to 9.2

Upgrade patches can be found on on our solutions and patches page: CA API Gateway Solutions & Patches

Doc on  upgrading: Upgrade a Software Gateway - CA API Gateway - 9.2 - CA Technologies Documentation

On the upgrade doc in the top right hand side you will see a versions switch to bring up all the upgrade docs for all of the versions you will need.

    Hi hogma01,

    Thanks for the info.
The link which you have shared has the patch details for appliance.
Can I get the link where I can check for CA API Gateway software version related patch file details.

    Madhavi,

To continue on Deep's update and your outstanding questions. When you upgrade a software version of the gateway only the application patch is required not the platform. If the jump in versions is more than a few and over a major release, then normally the recommended is to step it through each release. From previous experience, we have been able to upgrade from 8.3 and higher without the need to apply anything more than just the 9.2 application patch.

Before version 8.3, we used SQL statement files to do the upgrade and pivoted to Liquibase for upgrades to the table schemas. Due to this you should first install and upgrade the database to version 8.3, then proceed to upgrade to 9.2. Please ensure to make proper backups of the database are made to ensure you can roll back if anything were to occur.

    Sincerely,

If you are upgrading Virtual Appliances, check out our procedures for an "expedited" upgrade that brings you immediately to the latest version, without needing to stop at any intermediate version:  Expedited Appliance Upgrade - CA API Gateway - 9.3 - CA Technologies Documentation

(Note that this works only with virtual appliances; it does not work with hardware appliances or software Gateways.)

The topic "List of Update Files" describes all the platform updates that must be applied when upgrading from various versions:

List of Update Files - CA API Gateway - 9.3 - CA Technologies Documentation

It is important to note the distinction: The Gateway update itself is "cumulative". That is, you can install the Gateway 9.3 update patch on a Gateway 8.3, without needing to install 8.4, 9.0, etc., first. However, it is the platform patches that are not cumulative. And the further back you go, the more platform patches must be installed.
