  • 1.  Is possible show the metrics of Browser Agent in Teamcenter?

    Posted Aug 23, 2018 02:36 PM

    Hi All,

This image illustrates the metrics of the Browser Agent, but these metrics are not displayed in Teamcenter. Is this possible, is there any information missing?

    Thank you

    Dear Community:

Can you help Carlos with an answer?

    Dear Carlos:

If not hearing anything back by the time that you read this, then please open a case

    Thanks

    Hello Hal, how are you?

    Thank you for response,

I managed to solve the problem, lacked adjustments in the parameters of the integration components of AXA/APM, basically followed this order:
    -Java Agent update for version 10.7 and enabled browser decorator;
    -Configuration of the profile of the application in the AXA console, adding the URL of access to the cluster;
-I generated a manual trace to ensure that the glue between the BA and the application in the agent occurred.
Well taking advantage of the topic, I have another question. Does AXA/APM integration support multiple clusters?
    Thank you so much.
    Warm Regards

    Hello Carlos,

I believe the root cause here was the missing activity, you need to ensure the generation of traces to be able to see data populated in the map.

Configure Team Center Map - CA Application Performance Management - 10.7 - CA Technologies Documentation

"Team Center map relies on the transaction trace data to populate the map. Therefore, it is important to record transaction traces to ensure that all nodes show on the map."

We keep enhancing APM so the map is generated as soon and as accurate as possible, most of this is possible right now because of the Agent Smart instrumentation feature

Configure Smart Instrumentation - CA Application Performance Management - 10.7 - CA Technologies Documentation

To give you a brief summary of SI evolution

    In 10.0: we added
-Automatic Entry Point Detection (introscope.agent.deep.entrypoint.enabled) -> this allows us to obtain all possible frontends
-Automatic Transaction Traces based on Differential analysis

    In 10.2 : added
-Enhanced Automatic entry point detection in threads with Backends (introscope.agent.deep.entrypoint.enabled)

    In 10.3: added
-Cross Proces AutoTracing (introscope.agent.deep.automatic.trace.crossprocess.enabled) -> CPTT for Auto trace ensures downstream traces are sent to EM

    In 10.5: added
    - Produce Complete ATC Relationship View Faster : Along with sample traces and normal traces a new transaction trace is generated by agent automatically when agent sees a particular transaction for the first time. (it is named “discovery trace”).
    - Automatic Backend Detection (introscope.agent.automatic.backend.detection.enabled) -> backends component can be auto instrumented on the fly to enable performance visibility, this help you to automatically pin point the component for application slowness or failure without any manual intervention or side effort

You can use the above individual properties to disable the individual features but all of them depends on the below master switches:

    introscope.agent.deep.instrumentation.enabled=
    introscope.agent.deep.trace.enabled=

All this help us produce an accurate map in ATC

    I hope this helps,

    Sergio
