Stop WPs and CPs

when I click on "Shutdown system", it will check all the WP and CP processes that are linked with the Automation Engine and kill the processes? Of is that a specific script that will be raised on the servers?

'Shutdown system' is processed by the PWP (Primary Work Process), that will subsequently shut down all server processes, then end itself.
