  • 1.  Functioning of CA UIM HUB in DR region

    Posted Feb 22, 2018 10:07 AM

    Hi,

We have configured and installed a hub on cloud.

Now the server team is failing over the CA UIM hub server in DR region and asking us to test.

The name of the hub server is same post the failover but the ip address changes hence in the console the hub is showing offline and also the controller on the hub is also not able to communicate.

Please let us know if any way we can configure the hub with server name or post failover also the hub is running.

    Thanks

Are you trying to configure a fail over for Primary HUB? Any reason why HA probe was not used?

    Hi,

Our primary hub and secondary UIM hubs is on MS cluster so we have no problem.

Now one of our secondary hub is in cloud and that Hub is put into DR region and then the ip changes of the hub and communication is not happening of the controller.
Do we need to have a failover hub for that secondary hub on cloud itself?

    What can be done?

    Thanks

I don't have a complete understanding of your architecture , but if you are trying to configure a fail over of your secondary server, you either need to set it up as a Windows Cluster with a virtual IP address or use HA probe where the switch over to the second server happens automatically.

What you have is two different servers with same host name and different IP , there might be good amount of manual configuration required to get the HUB configured and point the robots to the new HUB

    Hello Ayushs,

These should be directed to your solution architect.

The only try DR setup we support is using MS active / passive cluster:

    Here is an Excelent Guide:

And here just some other informations just in case:

Just you to know that There is no High Availability (HA) for UMP.

The primary hub can be setup with the HA probe to do fail-over if the primary goes down.
