  • 1.  Can multiple user use SLM portlet to merge QOS

    Problem :

I have currently 80000 thousand row left of QOS data. I notice that most qos are showing FQDN / Uppercase / Lowercase.

This FQDN / Uppercase / Lowercase difference is display in the USM Group view and PRD filter.

As my environment don't encourage use the script for qos merge I have been using SLM portlet.

For around 3 year I have keep configuring controller to override the robot name and set the qos source of the controller function to make the QOS display the robot name only and in lowercase . Then clear the niscache in the robot and use SLM portlet to merge the new qos with the old qos.

I would like to get more people to use the SLM portlet simultaneously to merge the data.

Is it OK for multiple user to use SLM portlet to merge QOS ?

I would not recommend this - it is likely to put a lot of load on the database and you may also end up with blocking/locked queries/tables if multiple users are merging similar QoS's at the same time.
