  • 1.  JMX DestCount Not Reporting Correctly

    Posted Mar 02, 2018 04:06 PM

    Hi,

A user believes on of his JMX metrics is not reporting correctly and I am not sure where to start. This particular JMx count is related to DestCount and it is reporting a constant 1. The user is expecting to see fluctuations in the count. When I reviewed the other DestCount transactions, they do fluctuate over time which makes me believe that the agent is configured correctly and that there might be something else wrong.

I found a few articles regarding JMX metrics, however they all in summary suggest checking the agent profile configuration. I reviewed the agent profile and confirmed the JMX properties are set correctly.

Are there any reasons as to why this transaction is reporting a constant 1 when it is expected to fluctuate?

    Thanks!

    Sam

    • APM version?
    • APM agent version?
    • Container & version?
    • Is this a default MBean or a custom?

    Hi Sam ,

DestCount is a JMX counter giving  the destination servers connected.

It is the Jboss server which updates this counter ; the APM agent only reads the value .

So , you must check the Jboss server to know if this value is correct or not for this server .
