CA Federation partnerships configure fails

  • 1.  CA Federation partnerships configure fails

    Posted Jan 10, 2016 11:40 PM

    Hi,

I'm trying to install CA Federation Partnerships r12.52 SP1

The install went fine. I'm using Oracle 11g as the DB.

When I run the configuration, it gathers the DB details, does test connection successfully. It shows the review screen and when I click on install it runs into problems.

I guess at the step when it tries to create the DB tables, it gives me an error saying "sm_oracle_ps.sql does not exist"

    Has anyone seen this before?

    Regards,

    Anand.

    StringUtils.stripFrontEndDoubleQuotes()

    Custom Action:

    sm_oracle_ps.sqldoes not exist

This is what I see in the install_config_info logs.

Interstingly, the exact same thing happens when I use a MSSQL Server 2012 db.

    Any suggestions?

    Regards,

    Anand.

    Hello,

You may check the following directory : siteminder/db/SQL and verify that you have the correct permission

Did you run the configuration wizard in debug mode ?

You may want to configure the Pstore manually

    Configure an Oracle Policy Store

    Best Regards,

    Julien.

In the <PS_INSTALL_HOME>/db/sql folder do you see the .sql files.

Here's what I would do to debug this in a different manner.

I would use the SQL File and the same connection parameters - then use a SQL Editor tool to run the SQL directly and check if that works fine. It could be possible there may be permission issues on the User Account being used as the SQL script has CREATE functions.

I am logged in as administrator, and I do see the .sql files in the folder.

I ran the configure, by right clicking and running as administrator.

I used the sa account on MSSQL and system account on Oracle, still same issue.

I Installed under C:\CA instead of the default C:\Program Files\CA. I don't know if this has anything to do with it.

I'll try to do it under C:\Program Files and see just in case the path to the SQL is hard coded, but that's highly unlikely.

I'll also try another drive altogether just for kicks and check.

    Regards,

    Anand.

The file path should not be an issue. What is the version of Windows OS, Policy Server, JDK?

I don't have the matrix in front of me. But something doesn't add up.

Please check if JDK8 is supported on W2K12 with R1252SP1.

    It is in R1252SP2.

I just checked the support matrix.

The combination you inked is unsupported. W2K12 is not supported in R12.52SP1 and so is JDK8.

W2K12 and JDK8 is supported in R12.52 SP2. Please try with R12.52 SP2 and confirm.

Okay I did the install in Windows 2008 R2 SP1 and was able to get through install and configure without issues.

However, It doesn't let me login into the admin ui.

    http://fed1.example.com:8888/ca/federation/adminui

I launch the URL, gets me the login page, then when I try admin/password with the password I set during install, says invalid username/password.

I then did smreg -su <newpasswd>, restarted PS, then tried, same issue. Doesn't let me login. Any ideas?

    Regards,

    Anand.

I am unware of any such URL in CA SSO.

The correct URL to access CA SSO WAM UI would be http://FQDN/iam/siteminder/adminui for the first time. Thereafter it is http://FQDN/iam/siteminder/console

    Ahhh I see

Okay you  are using the correct URL for FedMgr standalone.

Have you looked at the Error conditions listed here at the end Log in to the Administrative UI - CA SiteMinder® Federation Standalone - 12.52 SP1 - CA Technologies Documentation

Have you configured Administrative Authentication, if Yes, what is the userstore?

No User store. Just the default vanilla install. I'm not able to login to the WAMUI immediately after install.

Okay I reinstalled everything. Install and configure went through without any issues.

But when I login to the WAMUI, same issue, it doesn't give any error message, the page refreshes and nothing.

I can't see anything wrong in any of the logs. Everything shows that the system came up successfully.

but admin and the password I entered during install doesn't work. Has anyone seen this before?
