How to take dump of the alerts and dashboard in introscope?
Hi,
If you are asking how to backup the definitions of the alerts etc then these are are all contained in the jar file for the management Module that they are in. You can take a copy of that from the config/modules folder bear in mind though tha this is a backup of the whole Management Module
thanks
Mike
Thanks mike for the quick response...
From that jar file we can extract whatever we want right ...
if it is alerts or dashboard
Unfortunately it is not that simple - all definitions are contained within a single xml file within that jar - so extracting individual items is not really practical. If you want to be able to be able to move specific areas of functionality i.e. related metric groupings, alerts, dashboards etc then you may want to consider creating management modules to handle more discrete areas of functionality.
Hope this helps
Hi Priyanka,
The Management Module jar file is it self a container for all the monitoring config elements. We can definitely re-use the dashboards, groupings and etc.
Hi :
Were Mike's (last note) and Siddharth's responses helpful? Please let us know if having a backup of the entire jar file is sufficient.
Thanks Hal German
Marking as answered since there was no further activity . You may ask follow-up questions as needed.
Hi,a)You can obtain information about alerts, dashboard, etc using CLWorkstation, seeCLW Command Reference - CA Application Performance Management - 10.3 - CA Technologies Documentation b) If you need further details you can open the ManagementModule.xml as an “XML Table” using Excel and filter the appropriate columns. I know some customers are already using this technique as a workaroundc) you can create a simple app to read the xml and extract the information you need in the format you want or you can contact the Professional Service Team as they can implement/develop this for you.d) Be able to extract alerts and other elements full details is a common request from customers but currently not possible, I suggest you to open an idea/enhancement for this request.CA APM Click Actions, Create an ideaRegards,Sergio
