Sound notification for alerts in CA APM

Hi Team,

 

There is one question from the customer if CA APM can give sound/audio notification when there is danger alert. Can it done by any script or method. Kindly help me to know if is it possible.

The only way to do this is through a Shell Command Action.  You would need to write a script that the Alert would call .  Your script would trigger a sound.  Perl is one example that can generate sound on a trigger.

Also you could open up an Idea to have a sound trigger for the Actions in the Management Modules.

The other classic way of handling this is to use the email notification, and set a rule in your email client.  Here's the example in Outlook:
