  • 1.  cdm -customize Alerting

    Hi all,

     

      I want to disable certain alarms. like processor ,swap ,paging in cdm ...but still i need the metrics of these parameters .how to achieve this .pls help

    You can do this using over riding the events with your custom events. For eg:

     

    if event A is creating the alert it would be something like this

    0x0000abcd E 50 A 2

     

    Here CA is trying to create the major alarm. Now if you over ride this event in custom directory as

     

    0x0000abcd E 50

     

    And reload the events. Now you will only see the event but no alarm.

    We need to do in CDM probe itself.

    All probes allow the option of collecting the performance metric and/or generating an alert. You should be able to just unselect the Enable Alarm options in the CDM probe for the metrics you don't want alarms.

    CPU and Memory QOS are under the advanced tab in the CDM probe. You'd also need to uncheck the thresholds (if any are set) under the status tab.

     

    For disk, you would double click the drive on the Status tab, and uncheck the High and Low Threshold Settings, and select the "on Disk Usage.." options in the Quality of Service message section.

    if you are using Admin Console, you will want to make the checkpoint look like this:
