  • 1.  Upgrading from PPM 13.x to PPM14.3.

    All, my customer is looking to upgrade PPM from 13.x to 14.3 (initially staying with BO, not Jaspersoft). Apart from the release notes to guide us in considerations, does anyone have any lessons learnt documentation or advice that you can share with me?

    Hi,

     

    I had a hard time with audit triggers.. I had to disable them to upgrade and enable them  back afterwards. That's my lesson learned fromo 13.2 to 14.3.

    Hi Aurora,

     

    I believe its always a best practice to disable the audit before the upgrade.

    Hi,

     

    We are currently using Suse Linux Enterprise Server SP3 64 bit for CA PPM V13.3.

     

    We are Planning to upgrade to 14.3, When we went through the release notes it is advised to upgrade the OS to Suse Linux Enterprise Server 12 64bit.

     

    I have a question here. If upgrade fails and if we want to restore CA PPM V13.3, Do we need to downgrade the OS(SLES 12 to SLES 11) as well?

    We never had a successful upgrade from 13.2 FP6 directly to 14.3 with the 14.3 install. Our upgrade process is to upgrade to 14.2 first then go onto 14.3. By stepping through 14.2 we were bit by CLRT-77615. Suman has the fix here. 14.3 UAT kickoff is this week - so far so good.
