Extend IdentityMinder Directory.xml

    Hi,

    I am planning on extending a directory schema to have more attributes.

    SO naturally I would need to extend attributes in directory.xml.

    My question is if I need to recreate a new IME from scratch and import roles and rules.

    Or I can just restart and the exisiting IME can pick up the updated/extended directory.xml?

    Using CA directory as corporate directory;

    Thanks and regards,
    Eric

    Anyone up to the challenge of solving Eric's question?

    Thanks!

    You should be able to add new attributes to the directory via the /immanage console's import mechanism.

    I would like to confirm if we need to recreate IME again after the import mechanism?

    Thanks and regards,
    Eric

    No need to reimport the IME. It may be necessary to restart the IME from the console, but that should be all. The new attributes should then be available.

    Just to confirm, we have done this many times with our installation of IM 12.6.2. Just be sure you have your attributes consistent between the user directory, provisioning, etc.  We kept our attribute names and custom well-knowns identical in order to cut down on confusion.
