I have been working with Nimsoft support and development for the last month and half since our NOD environment was upgraded to 7.5. We have had numerous issues, mostly around tunnel stability and routing of our secondary and tertiary hubs (hub.sds file sync). The routing is the foundation for all probe communication to function properly; especially when it comes down the discovery, inventory, probe deployment, and security.
Last week we implemented the 7.6 hub rc build 2145-dev . The tunnel stability was improved but the routing issues remain. Today I will testing out hub 7.6 rc build 2173-dev, which contains the following fixes:
* checks the routing tables (hubs.sds as well as the internal memory)
*determines whether a "local" route has been inserted for a tunnel client
** if so, it automatically corrects this with the correct IP and port for a tunnel connection.
*each tunnel control thread will check the routing cache every 3 seconds for a route to its own tunnel
**if all is good, you'll see this type of message in the logs at log level 3 or higher:
Jun 26 15:54:05:108 [140459070428928] hub: CTRL gmc-Suse13-2 routing ok (10.238.20.142:35234)
**if a change has occurred, and it needs repaired you'll see this at log level 1 or higher:
Jun 26 15:54:05:702 [140459070428928] hub: CTRL gmc-Suse13-2 routing repaired (10.238.20.142:35234)
*for best results place this on any hub that's connected by a tunnel
*non-tunnel hubs can continue to use the previous build.
I will keep ya'll posted. Fingers crossed!
