    Key points for the upgrade of an existing PostgreSQL or Oracle APM Database in APM 9.6


    PostgreSQL

    • APM 9.6 installs a new version of PostgreSQL (9.2) so an upgrade in-place of the database is not possible.
    • The current database first needs to be backed up with the existing PostgreSQL software.
    • After PostgreSQL 9.2 is installed the database can be restored to the new version (the restore process automatically runs the schema upgrade step)


    Oracle

    • An APM Oracle database can be upgraded in-place.
