SDM R12.9 AA Migration from Testing to Production

I have the below testing environment in AA for SDM R12.9.  Below all server has OS  & SQL 2012 Standard edition Except BOXI which has OS and SQL 2008 R2

 

A: Background Server - 1

B :Standby server - 1

C: Application Server - 2

D: MDB Server - 1

E : BOXI Server - 1

 

BOXI Server is integrated with Application server for Reporting

In testing server there is customization for ldap in majic folder. Moreover uploaded categories for Incident, request and problem. Inactive some roles, groups , message template, access type .

 

Planning to Start building Production Server in AA environment below are details.  Below all server has OS  & SQL 2012 Standard edition Except BOXI which has OS and SQL 2008 R2

A: Background Server - 1

B :Standby server - 1

C: Application Server - 2

D: MDB Server -  It is in clustered environment

E : BOXI Server - 1

F: File Attachment Server

 

My question is can I take the backup of testing MDB Server and upload into the production server. And the Mods folder backup from Testing into Production. If Possible let me know the steps which I have to take care while performing this steps....

Its a little more complex than just moving the MDB over to PROD.

You will need to run the pdm_configure again to ensure that all the config files/db tables are updated with the correct hostnames for the PROD environment.

ok and what about the mods folder. Do I need to copy the mods folder for each server....

One more point I would like to add in my above question. I have already applied R12.9 Cumm Patch on test MDB and all 4 servers. So while uploading the backup of test mdb server into Production Clustered MDB servr I have to run again SDM R12.9 cmm patch in production all servers including clustere MDB?

In such a case MDB Patch doesn’t need to be reinstalled.

 

However, your Service Desk Installations should be patched the same way you patched in Dev.
