Say you have r8 and have custom user groups with rights. Then you upgrade to v12.If it happened that one of the rights in your groups is dropped, will it simply disappear?  Say it is not dropped, but spit into two, what would happen in that case?  If you don't pick it up is your group simply going to lose that particular rights without any replacement not error?  Martti K.

Martti,  we are upgrading from 7.5.2 to v12.0.5 and in 1 test env we have done it.  don't know whether this is the answer you expect.  in 7.5.2 we have created custom sub objects.so that access rights for that objects are provided to our custom groups.(PM and Staff). Now after upgrade the same rights are there. It should be as our custom objects are also migrated.i have deleted the sub object access rights from that custom group and later  added that.  Logically when the custom sub objects is deleted then that rights should be removed and will not   list in that custom groups itself. (I have not tried it as there is no dummy sub objects).  cheers, sundar

Yes that is a little different. When you try to XOG write rights that are not there you get an error,   but the others will go fine. When there are custom objects in the upgrade they should be upgraded OK if they are not tweaked and then the rights will upgrade, too.  Martti K.
