Is it possible to migrate BNA 11.3 from Linux to Windows server?

  • 1.  Is it possible to migrate BNA 11.3 from Linux to Windows server?

I have a customer running BNA 11.3 on RHEL 6.1. We wanted to upgrade to BNA 12.0.3 but this attempt always fails with the following messages:

    2.jpg

This is not exactly my screenshot but the error message is the same!

We tried with or without migration performance data, on different systems, but the result is always the same.

At my Windows cutomers I never had these problems and so we decided to install BNA 12.0.3 on a Windows server.

Is there any way to migrate at least the configuration data (discovered devices) from Linux to Windows?

I know it is not supported but is the a chance to do so?

How's about the license key? Is it the same?

    Many thanks in advance

    Barney

Cross OS migration is not supported; however, you can restore a Windows OS backup to a Linux OS and vice versa.

You can find the complete steps to migrate in the Brocade Network Advisor Installation and Migration Guide

    http://www.brocade.com/downloads/documents/html_product_manuals/NA_1210_IG/wwhelp/wwhimpl/js/html/wwhelp.htm#href=Chapter_Migrate.5.4.html

And you do not need a new license , the same key should work for any OS .
