Most tape libraries do not allow multipathing. Most tape libraries should be connected to a single fabric only.

Depending on the controlability of the tape library, there are "creative" ways that a TL could be connected to a dual fabric. But, that does require that each tape drive in a library be single fabric only. I've only seen this done once and that device would be hard pressed to be truely called a "library".

From my experience, you may connect drive to both fabrics. After link failure you may switch to second path and reschedule backups.

Unfortunatelly i don't remember now if its driven by tape library or backup software.
