Does anyone know if you can extend EMC VNX 5100 units on a Brocade 7500 over a distance of about 800 miles. If so what license's are needed.

    1) Brocade Extended Fabrics

    2) High Performance Extension over FCIP/FC

I think that 'Extended Fabric' is not required in this case (FC/IP). There is no FC buffer credit management. (no ISL between 2 E_ports)

For Brocade7500, licence is simply referenced as 'FCIP licence'

    Michael,

High Performance Extension over FCIP/FC is new name (formerly known as “FC-IP Services”) see Release Notes.

about Extended Fabric, honestly I'm not quite sure since the distance is around 800 miles if this is required or not, no matter if the Connectity is FCIP or FC.

    But I'll not insist.
