Migrating from Brocade 5300 to 6520 FC SAN Switch

    Hi Brocade Community.

I'm planning to refresh a Broacde 5300 to a 6520 for a customer. I know that for zoning configuration information, I can just ISL the 2 switches together and the zone configuration will flow from the 5300 to a 6520. However, I'm wary that there might be other information that I need to copy over. For example, SNMP configuration. What is the best way of doing this? Should I configupload the 5300 configuration to a server and later configdownload back to the 6520 switch? The DID of the 6520 switch will be different from the 5300. Please advise.

    Thanks in Advance

    YewHoong

    Hello,

The best will be to do a configupload from both switches and compare it. But not upload it to the new with if you are not using same swith model.

As Thierry said, take the last configupload from the 5300 and download on the 6520 while it is not connected. Log in to the 6520, switchdisable it and change the domain id. Enabled the 6520. Then configupload from the 6520 and compare with the 5300.
