I have a question about port highlighting in WebTools, please. In one switch (the top picture below) I see healthy ports highlighted in green, and undefined ports greyed out. On another switch (bottom picture below) I have a more monocromatic view, without the highlighting. Does anyone know why this would be different and how to enable the highlighting?
Please and thanks for any info!
Greetings jrmoore. Can you share more details about both switches? Model number, firmware version and any other pertinent information (ie, refresh intervals).
Thank you for the reply. If you'd like output from any specific commands please let me know and I'll post the output here.
Switches are both 4100s running 6.4.3d. I suspect this may be a license issue but another technician believes upgrading from 6.4.3 to 6.4.3d caused this to fail on one of the switches. I am doubtful but am trying my best to confirm one way or another. Thank you for your help.
Licenses for the one that is working (showing the port highlights)
First Ports on Demand license - additional 8 port upgrade license
Second Ports on Demand license - additional 8 port upgrade license
Extended Fabric license
Fabric Watch license
Performance Monitor license
And for the switch where this is not functioning:
We are looking into this. If further information is needed, I'll let you know. This is a head-scratcher for sure.
Is it possible that this display is tied to the FabricWatch license?
Hi jrmoore. You were 100% correct in your assessment. It is the differential between having the Fabric Watch license installed vs. not. So thanks. I just learned something as I did not know that.
