How LSAN zoning configured between 6510 and 300B SAN switches%3F

  • 1.  How LSAN zoning configured between 6510 and 300B SAN switches%3F

    Posted 11-16-2017 08:00 AM

    We have one Brocade 6510 and one 300B switch. Need to configure LSAN zoning between them, as per my understanding 300B doesn't support FC routing or EX Port configuration. Can EX port on 6510 and E port on 300B fullfill the requirement for LSAN zoning nad how we do the LSAN zoning. need some guidance.

    thanks

    @parthsharma

    Brocade 6510 can be configured for LSAN, but IR = Integrated Routing License is required.

    Hi,

    only the 6510 can be used as a router (IR/FCR) and not the 300, as Antonio noted.

    1. Notice that if Virtual  Fabric is enabled on the 6510, then you EX-port is in the base switch which cannot have any devices - so you would need to create a logical switch on the 6520 and locally cable from the logical switch to the EX-port. Notice this:

    EX_Ports can connect to a logical switch that is in the same chassis or in a different chassis.However, the following configuration rules apply:
    ‐ If the logical switch is on the same chassis, the EX_Port FID must be set to a different value than the FID of the logical switch to which it is connecting.
    ‐ If the logical switch is on a different chassis, no FID for any logical switch in the FC router backbone fabric can be the same as the FID of the logical switch to which the EX_Port is connecting.

    2. If Virtual is disabled, then you can mix EX-port with the devices on the 6510.
